Traditional Understanding of Compound Gate

·         Compound Wall is a must for all houses, if not, then at least a fencing using wires or plants or Pyramids is necessary

·         Compound wall should be lower in height than the main entrance of an east-or north-facing house

·         For houses with south-or- west-facing entrances, the compound wall can be less or more in height than the main entrance

·         If a compound wall in South or West or South-West collapses, it has to be immediately resurrected or else it leads to financial loss and tensions

·         Make two compound gates, one for Car entry and other for walking in

·         Avoid making compound gates in the extreme corners of  the plot

·         Make the compound gate and Main door such that both are in the same direction but not exactly opposite each other. Your compound gate is too visible from the Main Door

·         A compound Gate should always open clockwise

·         A South compound gate leads to hazards, accidents and difficulties
